Summary
The Monastery of St. Paraskevi in Smolia (Agrielia), Trikala The present study refers to the monastery of St. Paraskevi in Agrelia, which is mentioned in a) an 1824 hand writen rememberance of St. Paraskevi (which is described), b) an inscription of Great Meteoron, c) an enlistment of the 20th July 1816, d) an 1808 remembrance, etc. Today only the church, which is renovated, survives out of the whole Monastery and it is described here, with special emphasis to the wood curved temple. The area of the Monastery (Paliochori) was the base of the Vlachavas' resistance fighters. Finally, the administrative and ecclesiastic role of Agrelia is examined.
