Summary
The ciborium above the altar of the Dormition church at Kalambaka (Thessaly) is made of different reused marbles combined with sculptures and paintings. This liturgical complex has not been produced during the Early Byzantine period only, since the study of its low relief decoration shows that its different pieces have been carved or at least assembled at the beginning of the 12th century.
